SERVICES
Boiler installations & upgrades
Boilers on average, last around 10-15 years, so sooner or later the time will come to upgrade your existing boiler. Each boiler we install is rated A for efficiency and will burn the minimum amount of fuel possible. Depending on the rating of your existing boiler, when you upgrade to a brand new A-rated model, with full heating controls, you could save hundreds of pounds on your annual heating bill.
Boiler breakdown & servicing
It’s crucial to service your boiler annually so that any underlying faults can be picked up and addressed. A service will ensure your boiler is safe to use and will maintain your manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable.
Our Gas Safe engineers will inspect your boiler and explain their findings, along with any necessary next steps. Your boiler controls will be tested, along with the pressure settings, safety devices, flues and surrounding pipework. Repairs will also be carried out if required.
Power flush
The water in a central heating system corrodes steel or iron radiators. Unless the correct dose of an inhibitor in the water is present, rust will form, creating sludge which settles at the centre of a radiator. This prevents the hot water from heating that part of the radiator panel. Power-flushing removes sludge and can restore the performance of the system. A power-flush takes at least 4-hours depending on the size of the system and the amount of sludge in it.
Chemicals are pumped at an increased pressure through the system to break down the sludge. The power-flushing machine removes particles that are suspended in the chemical solution. The system is topped up with clean water and the correct dose of inhibitor is added to prevent future corrosion.
How do to check whether your system needs a power flush:

Turn on central heating and allow radiators to warm up

Briefly hold your hand against the front panel

Compare temperatures of the two top corners with the bottom centre

If the bottom centre is cooler than other parts you could benefit from a power flush.
Radiator repairs and installation

Gas safety checks and certificates
Gas safety report is a Government run program where all privately rented properties are inspected annually to certify them as a “Gas Safe Property”. The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 outline the landlord with three main legal responsibilities for renting a property: Gas safety check, record & maintenance. Landlord’s Responsibility: It is landlords legal duty to ensure that the property is checked annually for gas safety of the property. It is unlawful to carry out a gas/gas appliance related job without a gas safe register engineer.
Our fully qualified gas and heating engineers are regulated by the GAS SAFETY REGISTER (registration number 651746), which is a legal and mandatory requirement for all gas businesses. We will asses all pipework, check your boiler and if you have one, the hot water cylinder in your airing cupboard. We cannot service your own appliances, such as cookers or gas hobs, but we will check that they are safe to use and any defects will be reported to you. If unsafe, your appliance will be disconnected from the gas supply as a safety precaution.
